Why Seerah matters for a child

A girl in a teal hijab reading an Islamic storybook on a prayer mat while her female teacher waves from a laptop

Children copy the people they love. When a child knows how the Prophet ﷺ treated orphans, animals, his neighbours and even people who were unkind to him, they have a picture of good character to aim for — not a list of rules.

Seerah also gives meaning to everything else a child learns. Salah, fasting, the Quran and good manners all make more sense when a child knows the story of the man who brought them.

What your child learns, step by step

Three smiling children, two girls in hijab and a boy in a kufi, reading the Quran on rehals together

The teacher follows the story in order, at a pace that suits your child's age:

  • Makkah before Islam, and the Year of the Elephant
  • The Prophet's ﷺ childhood: Halimah, his grandfather and his uncle
  • Al-Amin — the honest young man of Makkah
  • The first revelation in the Cave of Hira
  • The early Muslims, patience and the hard years in Makkah
  • The Hijrah to Madinah and building the first mosque
  • His family, his companions and his kindness to children
  • The conquest of Makkah, forgiveness and the Farewell Sermon

How a Seerah class works

Illustration of a supervised online class with a parent watching

Each class is a live 30-minute lesson between your child and one teacher. The teacher tells part of the story, asks your child questions, and ends with one thing to practise that week — a dua, a kind act, or a short hadith that matches the story.

Younger children get short stories with pictures shared on screen; older children go deeper into the events, the places and the lessons. You can sit in on any class, and every class is supervised for teaching quality.

  • Stories told in English (or Urdu on request)
  • Questions in every class to check understanding
  • One practical lesson to take into the week
  • Can be combined with Quran reading in the same weekly plan

Seerah sits alongside the other parts of our Islamic Studies course. Many families split the week: two Quran classes and one Islamic Studies class, with the same teacher for both.
