What we do

Illustration of male and female Quran teachers

Every class is live and one-to-one with the same teacher each week, so your child is not meeting a new adult every month and you get to know who is teaching them. We arrange classes with the parent, not with the child.

You can sit in on any class without telling us first. If you would like to look back at a lesson, ask and it can be recorded for you. Classes are supervised for teaching quality. You choose a male or female teacher when you book, at the same fee, and if you are not comfortable with a teacher for any reason, tell us and we will change them at no cost.

  • Live one-to-one — never a group class
  • The same teacher every week
  • Sit in on any class, no notice needed
  • Lessons recorded on request
  • Classes arranged with the parent
  • Male or female teacher, same fee, change any time for free

Why being able to watch matters most

Illustration of a supervised online class with a parent watching

The single most useful safety measure for an online class is that a parent can see and hear it. Unlike a classroom across town, an online lesson happens in your own home, a few feet away from you. Nothing has to be taken on trust: you can watch the whole thing, every time, if you want to.

Many parents sit beside their child for the first few classes, then listen from across the room once they know the teacher. With younger children we recommend staying close throughout. There is no point at which you lose the right to sit in.

Keeping the same teacher each week helps here too. You hear how they speak to your child, how they correct mistakes and how they handle a tired or distracted day. Over a few weeks you build a clear picture of the person teaching your child, which is far more reassuring than any badge on a website.

See how your child gets on — the first 3 classes are free.

A safety checklist for any online class

Illustration of a live online Quran lesson on a laptop

Most of what keeps an online class safe is in the setup at home, and it applies whichever academy or tutor you use:

  • Hold the class in a shared room, not a bedroom with the door closed
  • Turn the screen so you can see it as you walk past
  • Use a family laptop or tablet rather than your child's own phone
  • Keep the class link and all messages on a parent's account
  • Sit in on the first few classes, and drop in unannounced now and then
  • Be nearby for the whole class with young children
  • Know which platform the class uses, and expect it to stay the same

Rules worth agreeing with your child

Children do not need to be frightened, just clear on a few simple rules. Explain them calmly and repeat them now and then:

  • The teacher only talks to you during class, with a grown-up nearby
  • No private chats, friend requests or social media with any teacher
  • Never share passwords, addresses or photos in a class
  • If anything feels odd or uncomfortable, tell a parent straight away
  • You will never be in trouble for telling

Red flags with any teacher or academy

One of these on its own may have an innocent explanation, so ask about it. If the answer does not reassure you, stop the classes. You never need a reason to put your child first.

  • A teacher asks to contact your child directly, or on another app
  • You are discouraged from watching lessons
  • The class moves to a different platform without explanation
  • The teacher changes every week and nobody can say why
  • Simple questions about how classes are run get vague answers

Ask us anything

If you have a question about how classes are run, ask before you book and we will answer it directly. If there is something we do not do, we will say so rather than dress it up. The first three classes are free and no card is taken, so you can sit beside your child and judge for yourself.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Can I watch my child's classes?
Yes, any class, at any time, without telling us first. Many parents sit beside their child for the first few weeks.
Are classes recorded?
Lessons can be recorded for you on request, so you can look back at a class if you would like to.
Can my daughter have a female teacher?
Yes. Choose a male or female teacher when you book; the fee is the same either way, and you can change teacher at any time at no cost.
Will the teacher contact my child directly?
Classes are arranged with the parent. If any teacher, from any academy, asks to message your child privately or move to another app without you, treat it as a red flag and tell the academy.
What if I am uncomfortable with a teacher?
Tell us and we will change the teacher at no cost. You do not need to explain why.
Where should my child sit for an online class?
In a shared room such as the kitchen or living room, on a family laptop or tablet, with the screen where you can see it.
