Short answer: the best online Quran academy for your family is the one whose teacher your child actually reads well with, and the only honest way to find that out is to watch a few real lessons before you pay. At Online Quran Lessons, every family starts with 3 free one-to-one trial classes, no credit card needed, with a male or female teacher of their choice.
Most parents we speak to have been here before. They signed up somewhere because the website looked good, paid for a month, and then realised by week two that their child was sitting in a group of six, waiting for a turn that came twice a lesson. Or the teacher was fine, but the timing never really worked with school and homework.
None of that shows up on a homepage. It shows up in the lesson itself. That is why we think every parent should sit beside their child for a few real classes before deciding anything, with us or with anyone else.
What to look for in an online Quran academy
Before you compare prices, check these six things. They matter far more than a polished website.
- One-to-one or group? In a group class your child might read for five minutes out of thirty. In a private class they read for most of the lesson, and every mistake gets heard and fixed.
- Can you choose a male or female teacher? Many families want a female teacher for daughters or young children. A good academy lets you choose, and doesn't charge more for it.
- Are the timings really in your time zone? "Flexible" should mean before school, after school and weekends, in New York, London, Toronto or Sydney time, not just Pakistan time.
- Are fees published up front? If you have to hand over your phone number just to see a price, be careful.
- Is there a real trial, and a way out? Look for free classes with no card, no contract, and a refund window on the first paid month.
- Will they tell you how your child is doing? You should hear what was covered and what to practise, not just get a monthly invoice.
One more quiet warning sign: any academy that promises your child will "finish the Quran in six months" before a teacher has even heard them read. For more on this, see how to choose an online Quran teacher for your child.
How our free trial works
The trial is 3 full one-to-one classes of 30 minutes each, and nothing is paid at any step. These are real lessons, not a sales call.
- Book in 20 seconds. Fill in your email, country and WhatsApp number on the free trial page. No card is asked for.
- We message you on WhatsApp. We agree a day and time in your own time zone and ask whether you'd like a male or female teacher.
- Your child reads with a real teacher. Classes run on Zoom, Google Meet or Skype, on a phone, tablet or laptop. The book is shared on screen, so there's nothing to buy or print.
- You decide. If it feels right, you carry on with the same teacher and the same slot. If not, there's nothing to cancel.
Not sure which course to start with? Choose "Not sure yet" when you book. In the first class the teacher listens to your child read and suggests where to begin.
And it doesn't stop at the trial. You can sit in on any class at any time, change teacher for free without explaining why, and your first paid month comes with a 7-day money-back guarantee.
Courses, and who they're for
We teach children from age 4 and adults of any age, from complete beginners to students working on Hifz. Families join us mostly from the USA, UK, Canada and Australia, and lessons are taught in English (Urdu on request).

| Quran Reading | Students who finished Qaida | 6+ and adults |
| Tajweed | Students who already read and want correct recitation | 8+ and adults |
| Hifz (Memorization) | Memorizing surahs or the whole Quran | 6+ and adults |

We also run classes specifically for sisters, adults and new Muslims. Sisters can learn with a female teacher and without a camera.
Fees, published up front
Plans start at $39 a month for 8 one-to-one classes, and the fee is the same whether you choose a male or female teacher. There's no registration fee, no materials charge and no contract.
| Plan | Classes a month (30 min) | Monthly fee (USD) | Per class |
|---|---|---|---|
| 2 classes a week | 8 | $39 | ≈ $4.88 |
| 3 classes a week (suggested) | 12 | $49 | ≈ $4.08 |
| 4 classes a week | 16 | $55 | ≈ $3.44 |
| 5 classes a week | 20 | $59 | ≈ $2.95 |
The starting plan is also £30, C$56 or A$62. Siblings get a family discount from the second child, and we schedule them back to back so it's one sitting for you. Full details are on the fees page.
When we might not be the right fit
We'd rather be honest than win every family. If you specifically want group classes where children learn alongside friends, we don't offer them: every lesson here is one-to-one. If you want an in-person madrasa, a local masjid class will serve you better.
And if your child doesn't settle with us after the free classes, that's fine. You'll have lost nothing, and you'll know much better what to look for elsewhere.
Hear your child read with a real teacher
You don't need to take our word for any of this. Book 3 free classes, sit beside your child, and judge the teaching for yourself. Book your free trial, or message admissions on WhatsApp: +92 324 9742682.
