When the madrasah was not the right place

A young boy reading the Quran at home while his male teacher smiles from a live online class

Many parents of autistic children, or children with ADHD, dyslexia or a speech delay, tell us the same story: a noisy room, a teacher with twenty other children, and a child who was labelled difficult, fell behind, or was quietly asked not to come back. The child wanted to learn. The setting was the problem.

A one-to-one online class changes the setting. There is no crowded room, no waiting for a turn, and no other children watching. Your child learns at home, somewhere they already feel safe, with one teacher whose attention is on them for the whole lesson.

What we can honestly offer

Illustration of a flexible 24/7 class schedule

We are a Quran academy, not a therapy service, and our teachers are not special-education specialists. What we do offer is the format many children with additional needs do best in: one-to-one, predictable, and patient. Tell us about your child when you book — what helps, what upsets them, how they communicate — and the teacher will work with that from the first class.

  • The same teacher and the same time every week, so the class becomes routine
  • A parent can sit beside the child in every class
  • The pace is set by your child — the teacher moves on only when a lesson is secure
  • Camera on or off, and breaks within the lesson when needed
  • Change teacher free of charge if the match is not right

See how your child gets on — the first 3 classes are free.

Starting from where your child is

A mother and her young son smiling at their Quran teacher on a tablet

Most children begin with the Noorani Qaida: one Arabic letter at a time, the sound it makes, then joining letters into words. It is broken into very small steps, which suits children who need repetition and clear structure. Some children are ready for the Quran itself; some spend longer on the basics. Both are fine. Progress is measured against your child, not against anyone else.

For children who find reading hard, many families also add short surahs and daily duas learned by listening and repeating, so the child is connecting with the Quran even while reading is still developing.

Try it before you commit to anything

The first 3 classes are free and no card is taken. That is usually enough to see whether your child settles with the teacher and the format. Classes are 30 minutes and run 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, so you can choose the time of day your child is at their best. Paid plans start at $30 / £24 a month, with no contract and a 10% discount for siblings.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Can my autistic child learn the Quran online?
Many can, and some do better online than in a group class because the setting is quieter and more predictable. The free trial classes are the honest way to find out for your child.
Are your teachers trained in special educational needs?
Our teachers are qualified Quran teachers, not SEN specialists or therapists. They teach one-to-one, at your child's pace, and you can sit in on every class and tell the teacher what works for your child.
My child has ADHD and cannot sit still for long. Will that be a problem?
Tell the teacher when you book. Classes are 30 minutes, and the teacher can break the lesson into short parts with pauses in between. Choosing a time of day when your child is calmest helps too.
Can I stay with my child during the class?
Yes. Parents are welcome in every class, and for many children with additional needs it makes a real difference.
What if my child does not get on with the teacher?
Tell us and we will try a different teacher, free of charge. You do not need to give a reason.
