Character is part of the deen

The Prophet ﷺ said that the heaviest thing on the scale on the Day of Judgement is good character. Akhlaq is not an extra on top of Islam — it is how a child's faith shows up at home, at school and with friends.

Our manners lessons turn that into something a child can practise: one clear habit each week, linked to a story from the Quran or the Sunnah.

What your child learns

Three smiling children, two girls in hijab and a boy in a kufi, reading the Quran on rehals together

Topics are chosen for your child's age and the habits you want to work on:

  • Honesty, keeping promises and owning up to mistakes
  • Respect and kindness to parents, grandparents and teachers
  • Greeting with salam and speaking kindly
  • Sharing, patience and controlling anger
  • Manners of eating, sleeping, entering the home and using the bathroom
  • Caring for neighbours, guests, animals and the environment
  • Being a good friend and avoiding backbiting
  • Gratitude — saying Alhamdulillah and thanking people

See how your child gets on — the first 3 classes are free.

How the lessons work

Illustration of a supervised online class with a parent watching

Each class is a live 30-minute lesson with one teacher. The teacher tells a short story, talks about it with your child, and agrees one habit to try that week. In the next class they ask how it went.

Parents are welcome to sit in, and many tell the teacher which habit they would like to focus on — sharing with siblings, for example, or speaking respectfully. Every class is supervised for teaching quality.

Manners lessons sit inside our Islamic Studies course, alongside beliefs, worship and the Seerah, and can be combined with Quran reading in the same weekly plan.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Can I ask the teacher to focus on a particular habit?
Yes. Tell the teacher what you would like to work on and the lessons will include it, with a story and a weekly practice that fits.
What age is this for?
From about 4 upwards. Lessons for young children are short and story-based; older children discuss situations from their own lives.
Is this a separate course?
Manners are part of our Islamic Studies course. You can focus on them, or mix them with beliefs, worship and Seerah — and with Quran classes.
Can I watch the classes?
Yes, any class, without notice. Every class is supervised for teaching quality.
What does it cost?
Plans start at $39 a month (£30, €36) for 8 one-to-one classes. There is no registration fee, all materials are included, and siblings get a 10% family discount from the second child. The first 3 classes are free.
