What happens in a Hadith class?

A boy in a kufi making dua on a prayer mat while his Islamic Studies teacher smiles on a laptop

Each lesson takes one short hadith. The teacher reads it in Arabic, the student repeats it until it flows, and then they go through what it means word by word. The second half of the class is about the lesson inside the hadith: what it asks us to do, and where it shows up in a child's ordinary day — at school, with brothers and sisters, at the dinner table.

Classes are 30 minutes and one-to-one, so the teacher can slow down for a younger child or go deeper with a teenager or adult.

What will your child learn?

Children start with very short hadiths about everyday manners and kindness, then move to hadiths about Salah, honesty, family and the Muslim's character. Older students and adults look more closely at the wording and at how a hadith connects to the Quran.

  • Short hadiths memorised with correct Arabic pronunciation
  • Meaning of each hadith in English or Urdu
  • One practical action to try at home after every lesson
  • Basic terms: what a hadith is, who narrated it, why authenticity matters
  • Regular revision so earlier hadiths are not forgotten

An open Quran with Arabic script

Hadith can be taken on its own or alongside Quran reading and Islamic Studies. Many families add one Hadith lesson a week to their child's Quran plan; the fee depends only on how many classes you take each week, not on the subject.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

What age can my child start Hadith classes?
Most children are ready from about age 7, once they can repeat a short Arabic sentence. Younger children usually learn a few hadiths inside their Islamic Studies lessons first.
Which hadiths do you teach?
Short, authentic hadiths that suit the student's age. Teachers follow mainstream Sunni scholarship and respect your family's madhhab. If you would like a particular set of hadiths covered, tell the teacher.
Can adults join Hadith classes?
Yes. Adult lessons spend more time on meaning, context and the link with the Quran.
How much do Hadith classes cost?
The same as every other course: monthly plans from $30 for one 30-minute class a week, with no registration fee. See the fees page for your currency.
