What Noorani Qaida covers
The Noorani Qaida course is a beginner reading program that teaches the Arabic alphabet, vowel marks, and letter joining so students can begin reading the Quran. It is the standard first step for children and adults who have never read Arabic before. Lessons are one-on-one with a trained teacher who models each sound clearly, listens to the student repeat it, and corrects gently until the pronunciation settles.
The course follows the classical Qaida sequence: isolated letters, letters in their joined forms, short vowels (harakat), tanween, long vowels (huroof maddah), sukoon, shaddah, and finally full words and short phrases. Each stage builds directly on the last, so students never face a page they have not been prepared for. Regular short drills keep earlier lessons fresh while new material is introduced.
By the end of the program, students can sound out any Arabic word slowly and accurately, which makes the transition to reading the mushaf natural rather than intimidating. Noorani Qaida: common questions
How long does it take to finish Noorani Qaida?
Most students complete the Qaida in three to six months with two to three classes per week. Young children may take a little longer, while motivated adults often finish faster. Progress depends mainly on class frequency and short daily practice between lessons.
Is Noorani Qaida suitable for adults, or is it only for children?
Noorani Qaida works equally well for adults. The book itself is age-neutral; only the teaching style changes. Adult learners are paired with tutors experienced in teaching grown-up beginners, so lessons feel respectful and efficient rather than childish.
Do I need any Arabic background before starting?
No background is needed at all. The course begins with the very first letter of the alphabet and assumes the student has never seen Arabic writing before. Everything, including how to hold sounds and read vowel marks, is taught from scratch.
What happens after my child completes the Qaida?
After a short final assessment, students move directly into the Quran Reading with Tajweed course, usually with the same teacher. Because the Qaida covers every sound and sign used in the mushaf, the transition is smooth and most students begin reading from Juz Amma right away.
