Why learn duas with a teacher?

Apps and posters can show a child the words of a dua, but they cannot hear the child say it. A teacher listens to every word, corrects the pronunciation straight away and explains what the child is asking Allah for — which is what turns a memorised line into a real dua.

Duas your child will learn

The teacher starts with the duas your child will use most often:

  • Waking up and going to sleep
  • Before and after eating
  • Leaving and entering the home
  • Entering and leaving the bathroom
  • Wearing new clothes and looking in the mirror
  • Travelling and getting into a car
  • Sneezing, and replying to someone who sneezes
  • Duas for parents, and for knowledge (Rabbi zidni ilma)
  • Morning and evening adhkar for older children

How the classes work

Illustration of a supervised online class with a parent watching

Each class is a live 30-minute lesson with one teacher. Your child learns a new dua a little at a time, repeats it until it is correct, learns what it means and revises the duas from earlier lessons.

Many families add duas to their child's Quran classes — a few minutes at the end of each lesson — rather than booking a separate course. Every class is supervised, and you can sit in at any time.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Can duas be added to my child's Quran classes?
Yes. Many families spend the last few minutes of each Quran class on duas. Tell the teacher and it becomes part of the weekly plan.
Will my child learn the meaning too?
Yes. Every dua is taught with a simple English meaning (or Urdu on request), so your child knows what they are saying.
What age can my child start?
From about 4. Young children start with short duas like the ones for eating and sleeping.
Can I watch the lessons?
Yes, any lesson, without notice. Every class is supervised for teaching quality.
What does it cost?
Plans start at $39 a month (£30, €36) for 8 one-to-one classes. There is no registration fee, all materials are included, and siblings get a 10% family discount from the second child. The first 3 classes are free.
