Why revision decides whether Hifz lasts

A proud boy hugging the Quran beside a trophy and a stack of Qurans while his Hifz teacher claps on a laptop

Most students who lose their Hifz did not memorise badly — they stopped revising. Pages learned months ago fade unless they are recited again and again. Murajaah (revision) is what turns memorised pages into Quran a student can recite in Salah for the rest of their life.

That is why our Hifz classes do not treat revision as something for later. It is part of every single lesson.

Three parts of every lesson

Each 45-minute one-to-one class covers:

  • Sabaq — the new lesson, memorised and recited to the teacher
  • Sabqi — the recent pages, so they settle before moving on
  • Manzil — older portions on a rotating schedule, so nothing is left behind
  • Tajweed corrections throughout, so mistakes are not memorised

See how your child gets on — the first 3 classes are free.

A plan set for the student

Illustration of monthly tests and progress reports

The teacher sets how much is new and how much is revision based on the student's pace. A student who is forgetting slows the new lesson down and revises more; a strong student moves ahead faster. Parents get regular feedback on what is memorised and what needs work.

For students who already have some Hifz but have lost parts of it, the teacher can run a revision-only plan first to bring back what was memorised before adding anything new.

Who this is for

Three smiling children, two girls in hijab and a boy in a kufi, reading the Quran on rehals together

Revision-focused Hifz suits students at any stage:

  • Children starting Hifz who need good habits from day one
  • Students part-way through Hifz who are forgetting earlier Juz
  • Huffaz who want a steady revision partner to keep their Hifz
  • Adults memorising at their own pace around work

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

What is Murajaah?
Murajaah means revising what you have already memorised. In Hifz it usually has two parts: sabqi (the recent pages) and manzil (older portions on a rotating schedule).
Can you help a student who has forgotten parts of their Hifz?
Yes. The teacher hears what the student remembers and can start with a revision-only plan to restore it before adding new lessons.
How long are the classes, and what do they cost?
Hifz classes are 45 minutes long, on the same monthly plans as every other course — from $39 a month (£30, €36) for 8 classes, with no extra charge for the longer class. The first 3 classes are free.
How many classes a week are best for Hifz?
Hifz works best with frequent classes — most students take 4 or 5 a week. Plans run from 2 to 5 classes a week, and you can change plan from the next month.
Do you have female Hifz teachers?
Yes. Our female teachers are Hafizas, and the fee is the same for a male or female teacher.
