Islam is a beautiful and easy religion. It is highly convenient and the hardships or difficulties of this religion that some presents are only those that are posed by people themselves and it is all in their heads. The deeds that Muslims can do to earn rewards and blessings of Allah are numerous, and very easy too. The thoughts of them being difficult or involving too much effort are all the whispers of Satan. This soul creature (Satan) manages to whisper into our ears foul persuasions. So we do not do those actions that Allah loves and make them sound too difficult.

It was reported by the Prophet (P.B.U.H) that “whoever reads Surat Al-Kahf on Friday, it lightens what is between the two Fridays.” How can we best understand this light? This light is a guiding light throughout the week. Since we all face challenges that are both large and small, and we can very easily get confused as to how best to address our issues. We need a frequent reminder of the right perspective. Surat al-Kahf gives us a criterion to make decisions and form opinions. It helps us understand challenges and gives us the ability to deal with them. Whether they involve our finances, our personal relationships, or our pursuit to seek knowledge. There is no doubt that this surah will, time and time again, be an indispensable gem in our lives if we use it in accordance with the sunnah of the Prophet (P.B.U.H).

Reading the Quran:

A Muslim can earn great sawab by just reading a book i.e. The Holy Quran, this is once again a simple action but Satan makes us believe it to be a tiresome task. By Quran Recitation, a Muslim enhance his naama-e-aimal greatly. As narrated in the following hadith:

“He who reads one letter of the Quran it for him a good deed, and a single good deed is rewarded by ten times the like thereof. I am not saying that Alif-Lam-Mim is (just) one word, but that Alif is a (separate) letter (word), Lam is a (separate) letter (word), and Mim is a (separate) letter (word).”

This ought to be great motivation for us to read the Quran as this Book is guidance for us as well.

The day of Jumma and Surah Kahf:

Jumma is a day in the Islamic calendar that comes every week that Allah has made for us to attend congregational prayers in a mosque. Through this act, we get to social within our Muslim neighborhood. On this day we advise to indulge in great Islamic activities, reading some surahs of the Quran in particular. Given the above information, we realize that reading any surah of the Quran results in great sawab but there are some surahs that hold particular significance, such as Surah Yaseen and Surah Kahf.  As we can see from the following Hadith. The Messenger of Allah Almighty says:

“Whoever read surah al Kahf on the night of Jumma, will have a light that will stretch between him and the ancient house.”

“Whoever recites surah yaseen on the eve of Friday he will be forgiven by morning.”

Despite earning great sawab, reading Surah kahf also benefits us with great knowledge. Surah Kahf contains four instances all of which are great knowledge for us. Such as that of the people of the cave where we learn the power of having the faith in Allah Almighty.

Conclusion:

There are many great ways we can earn great blessings, and we should always be on the lookout for them. Do they always get to know of them? Prophet Muhammad (P.B.U.H) has also told this activity to be beneficial. So, we must recite Surah Kahf on Friday to earn great blessings of Allah Almighty.
